We handle data and personal information according to EU laws and regulations, which are one of the strictest in the world. Sequel will be compliant with the new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) when it comes into effect on 25th May 2018.
We follow generally accepted standards to protect the personal information submitted to us, both during transmission and once it is received.
Sequel ensures that all source code, files and data remain private and confidential. We restrict access to personal information to Sequel employees, who need to know that information in order to operate, develop or improve our service. These individuals are bound by confidentiality obligations and may be subject to discipline, including termination and criminal prosecution, if they fail to meet these obligations.
Sken.io uses SSL/TLS encryption (secure sockets layer / transport layer security) for protection of user data and personal information. A Sken.io user can access and update personal information after signing in to the Sken.io account located under the settings page. All your personal or billing information are stored in our servers in encrypted form. We store your data on our servers located within the European Union. We implement a large palette of security measures in order to maintain the safety of your personal data when we collect and process them.
Your private financial information (including the credit cards, financials, etc.) are transmitted via Secure Socket Layer (SSL) and not stored in our databse. We use third party services as Braintree which provides all payment proceses and transactions. Braintree payment gateway meets the PCI DSS security requirements ensuring the highest level of data security available.
To sign in, the user is required to know his/her login credentials - email address and password. There is no way to access personal information without knowing the login credentials, therefore no unauthorized party can access it.
Upon request Sequel will provide you with information about whether we hold any of your personal information. You may access, correct, or request deletion of your personal information by logging into your account or by contacting us at the contact information below. We will respond to your request within a reasonable timeframe. In certain circumstances we may be required by law to retain your personal information, or may need to retain your personal information in order to continue providing a service.
Sequel acknowledges that you have the right to access your personal information. Sequel has no direct relationship with the individuals whose personal data it processes. An individual who seeks access, or who seeks to correct, amend, or delete inaccurate data should direct their query to the Sequel Client (the data controller). If requested to remove data we will respond within a reasonable timeframe. In certain circumstances we may be required by law to retain your personal information, or may need to retain your personal information in order to continue providing a service.
As of now our intention is to service DSR requests (such as delete and export) manually. If you have an account with us, you may access, correct, or request that we delete your personal data by contacting us at email@example.com. This request can include personal data of other individuals, like your employees or customers that you have provided to us and who have requested this of you. We will respond to these requests within 14 days or less, which is well within the GDPR requirement of 30 days.
Sequel might, but is not obliged to, collect following information. All personal information mentioned below is considered private and is handled according to this privacy statement.
1. User personal information: Upon account creation the user is required to fill in his email address and a password. The user can update this information after signing in to his/her accounton on www.sken.io. Also any other personal data that visitors enters on Sken.io website or inside the application might be collected by Sequel.
2. Technical information: while using Sken.io, certain data about visitors might be collected to improve the Sken.io product, e.g. IP address, type and version of browser, type and version of operating system, approximate location, etc.
We collect information from you in order to enhance your user experience, namely following:

We use the information collected using cookies to improve our sites and services. We may also contract with third party service providers in order to help us improve our business and services.
